Lugnuts give back this Christmas

LANSING, MI. – With unemployment rates at an all time high and the economy in Mid-Michigan continuing to struggle, the Lugnuts were eager to help this holiday season. Earlier this week the Lugnuts partnered with the Family Support Services department of the Lansing Judicial Circuit Court to help a family in need.

Armed with wish lists from each of the family members, front office staff members searched high and low throughout Lansing to try and fulfill all their wishes.

“It’s no secret that times have been tough for our community” said Lugnuts General Manager Pat Day, “so to give back to a deserving family is something we take a lot of joy in.”

After the shopping was complete, the conference room in Oldsmobile Park was flooded with gifts ranging from books, puzzles, clothes, and basic kitchenware.

“This is one of my favorite projects we do every year,” said Community Relations Coordinator Lauren Truax, “it is more than just giving gifts; it is creating an experience that this family can cherish for years to come!”

A representative from the Family Support Services delivered the presents to the family on Thursday. If you or someone you know is interested in helping a Lansing area family, please contact Deborah Bieman at (517) 483-6326.
