LANSING – The Lansing Lugnuts are proud to announce the official release of its schedule for the 2008 baseball season. The 13th season of minor league baseball in downtown Lansing will begin on Monday, April 7 when the Lugnuts host the South Bend Silver Hawks at Oldsmobile Park.
This season the schedule features 18 LAFCU Fireworks nights, 13 Molson Thirsty Thursdays, three Auto-Owners Insurance Giveaways, and several new promotions for fans.
”We are very pleased with the way that the schedule turned out for next season,” Lugnuts General Manager Pat Day said. “LAFCU Fireworks and Molson Thirsty Thursdays are some of our most popular nights, so we are extremely excited to present plenty of opportunities for our fans to take advantage of those evenings. However we are also looking forward to bringing in some of the best entertainers in all of sports.”
Those entertainers are all a part of the popular Summer Entertainment Series presented by WILX. The one of a kind Amazing Christopher makes his first trip to the capital city on April 17. A month later on May 30, Myron Noodleman, the coolest nerd around checks in at Oldsmobile Park. The series wraps up on June 19 when Reggy the Purple Party Dude brings his wacky antics and high-energy act to Lansing.
”In addition to these great acts, we are very happy to bring several new theme nights to our fans,” Day said. “We always have a lot of fun with these evenings and wanted to expand upon them this season to give our fans more of the innovative entertainment that they have come to expect from us.”
Events like Jimmy Buffett Night (July 25) and MSU night (August 21) have been joined this year by 70s Night (April 17), Superhero Night (May 31), and Country Night (June 21).
The home portion of the season will end on August 28 against the Dayton Dragons.
